What does the Healthy Woman, Happy Woman look like?

I’ve been thinking about what it takes to be a Healthy Woman, Happy Woman (HWHW).  Well, I SHOULD be thinking about it, given that that’s the name I’ve given to my brand. 😉

We women have so many demands placed on us that we sometimes lose sight of ourselves and our most intrinsic needs.  I think we need to get back to basics.   Don’t you?  What are those “basics”?  Reclaiming our own well-being, health, and––can we even dare to imagine it?––happiness.

So, what does that HWHW look like?

Is she full of energy with her cravings under control, eating nutritious food, exercising regularly, and getting adequate rest?  She could be.

Or, maybe she’s not. She might be headed in that direction but dealing with the peaks and valleys of navigating life:

  • a few more pounds on her body than she’d like… pounds that seem to have set up permanent residence there;
  • a job that works her last nerve and drives her to eat stuff she knows she shouldn’t be touching;
  • a family tugging at her for more of her time and attention, leaving her with precious little of both in order to prioritize her health;
  • perimenopause sneaking up on her and wreaking havoc on her emotions.

Regardless of what stage you’re at and how much you may feel that you’re the farthest thing ever from a Healthy Woman, Happy Woman, I’m here to encourage you that it is within reach.  I’m a health coach who genuinely cares about women reaching their health and happiness goals, and I’m here to help you do just that in your own unique way.

I’ve created a manifesto in which I share my thoughts on how a HWHW can carve out a healthy and happy space for herself.  Check it out below:

Healthy Woman Happy Woman Manifesto

What’s your definition of a HWHW?  What in the manifesto do you resonate with the most?  Or least?  What makes you in particular a Healthy Woman, Happy Woman?

    Love the manifesto! The one I resonate with most is “You are enough. Period!.” 🙂

      I think that’s the one I cling to most, too, Kesha! It helps that it’s big and bold and in the center of the manifesto too! 🙂

    Yayyy Ali!! Congratulations on your new career change! I see I’m not the only one who finally decided to walk in her calling, lol!

    I LOVE your manifesto!! I’d have to say ‘self-care is not selfish’ is my favorite (although I love them all), lol. I say this to women all the time! As a matter of fact, it’s one of the lessons in my personal development course. We as women selflessly take care of those around us and wear it like a badge of honor (not that taking care of our loved ones isn’t honorable), BUT we can’t continue to do it and neglect ourselves in the meantime. There has to be a balance. If not, we won’t be available to do anything for anyone, because we’ve worn ourselves out. I think it’s a lesson we embrace as we get older, and not concern ourselves with whether anyone likes it or not, lol!

    I’ll be fifty next year, so I’m into a healthy lifestyle. So I’m looking forward to getting some great health tips from you! Again, congrats Ali…blessings to you my friend!

      Yes Michell, age brings about a shift in our perception of who we are and why we matter. We begin to recognize that if we’re not well, in the holistic sense of the word, then we can’t help anyone else to be well. Once we get clear on that, life gets less stressful and we can focus more on being healthy and happy. Great to be back in the blogging world with you!

Why is inflammation firing up your body?

Inflammation. Some call it the fire raging within that sparks a range of illnesses and diseases. Inflammation is part of the body’s natural defense system and is its first response to protect you from trauma and stress. Good inflammation brings healing, but negative, chronic inflammation harms and weakens the body, stoking a fire that feeds […]
