Picture for a moment a woman who radiates wellness. What does she look like? How does she live? What effect does her energy have on you? What’s her secret?
Are you that woman? Or are you on your way to becoming that woman––contagiously healthy and happy–– who makes others think: “I want what she has!”
Hi, I’m Alison, a certified health coach and lover of all things health- and wellness-related.
My intention in this blogging space called Healthy Woman, Happy Woman (HWHW) is to explore with you, my sisters in health and happiness, ways to bring more life-enriching goodness into your world, whether through food, physical activity, career, relationships, or spirituality.
I believe a healthy, happy life is every woman’s right. But it’s also a privilege that comes with responsibilities, including feeding ourselves––body, soul, and spirit–– with the ingredients that create and sustain wellness.
I’ve dealt with many conditions that conventional medicine never fully resolved, such as osteoporosis; irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); insomnia; and depression and anxiety. I’ve also lost dear friends and family members to cancer and other chronic illnesses. Those experiences propelled me to incorporate healthier ways of living into my daily routine. So I’m on the HWHW highway, and I invite you to walk that walk with me, sis, while we talk that very necessary talk! 🙂 To quote a favorite song of mine, “I’m not there yet, but I will be!”
Like you, I’m at my best when my body, mind, and spirit are fully nourished. That nourishment might look like a few minutes jumping on my mini-trampoline as I jam to some good music; a fun, new recipe that brings healing nutrients into my body; some quiet time worshiping my God and enjoying nature; or coaching other women seeking their own, tailor-made version of healthy and happy.
So, come take this journey with me to a healthier, happier you! Each of us is unique with regard to our nutrition, our exercise, and our self-care needs. Let’s travel together and share experiences as we stack the odds in favor of our health and happiness. Along the way, we can bring positive change to our careers, build lasting and meaningful relationships, deepen our spiritual practices, and find creative ways to incorporate physical activity each day.
You ready to become a contagiously healthy and happy woman? Let’s do it!
Tight hugs,
Ali
