Isn't that the truth, Chris! We beat ourselves up for no reason, especially mentally. Corraling our negative thoughts is a full-time job. But I'm glad you're aware of the tendency we have and that you employ grace, grace... and more grace. Hugs, Ali

This is really helpful and I KNOW us women are so at the ready to beat ourselves up whenever we get derailed form our health goals! The older I get, the more I give myself grace. It's all in the perspective- and in the big picture, it's SO SMALL.

Spiraling down from any mistake, never helps. I do that with other relational issues- and drown in the guilt or questioning over whatever problem occurred.

That's the best strategy, Dana. The less time you give the derailment, the better!

I'm okay with sticking with an exercise regimen, but I do slip in the diet area...too much sugar, etc. I try to cut myself some slack and start fresh the next day, because I know the longer I let things slide, the harder it is to get back to where I want to be.

Let me know how it goes, Tamara! Rebounding from going cold turkey is way harder than a slip-up of a day or two.

It's funny how some people slip down a bit, and decide to go the whole way. I've been there. It's not like I drop a workout or two. I'll go cold turkey. I wish I didn't do that so I'm going to use your rebounding tips for this fall!
